Ford Escort XR3
We have been commissioned by one of my clients to sell this lovely example of the Ford Escort XR3.
I have purchased and sold a number of classic cars for my Client Ian. He has a very good eye and always finds very good examples along with taking the time and money to bring them up to a very good standard.
July 1982 build, 5 speed, 130k Titan Blue
Sunroof, pop out rear windows (which is nice)
GCAB chassis number ( German build. )
MOT until July 2022 with a clean pass and no advisories.
Very solid car, original floors with chassis number still intact, dynotrol rust proofer as it has the grommets in the door shuts and cills etc.
Interior is all good condition with an uncut parcel shelf and very good dash with just a few small cracks round screen vent (see picture).

Exterior is good with only the odd small mark here and there; the car has been resprayed in the past. It presents very well, and receives many admiring comments on its condition.
It has had a battery tray fitted, but that’s typical for a Mk3.

Under the bonnet is decent and quite factory spec looking, nice but not silly so clean you’re afraid to use it!
Wheels are all really nice and have very good Pirelli P1s.
Sunroof is also good and works well: tilts-up, rolls-back and closes flush.
Partial service history: loads of receipts and paperwork including receipts for an engine rebuild back in 2015 and about 9k miles ago, and loads of other things as well.
Many old MOT’s back to around 91/92.
It has had a new carb fitted with a manual choke a couple of years ago prior to my ownership. Starts easily (once the fuel has come through) and is happy to be left for many weeks/months and still starts first time.
Pulls very well and is quite quick. Very happy and comfortable on the cruise at ~70mph, its remarkably quiet.
It has the usual mk3 escort dodgy dash lights, sometimes the oil light comes on although the levels fine and sometimes the fuel gauge is a bit temperamental and not to be trusted.
Two identical keys for the ignition, driver’s door, boot and fuel cap, but no key for exterior passenger door. This can just be locked/unlock from inside.
A very nice presentable and useable XR3 in great condition . Will become tax and MoT exempt June 2022
